However, despite my concerns, my thoughts keep returning to the possibility that this may be a good fit for Sleepy Cat Jewelry. Etsy is wonderful but people really have to know to look there for me and it's not giving me the visibility that a craft show would. I've heard from other artists that they sell at craft shows and just use Etsy as a secondary sale site - people who find them at craft shows may purchase additional pieces on Etsy but the majority of their jewelry is sold at the craft shows.
Interestingly enough, I was having coffee with my friend who creates fantastic music for children, http://www.mamalovesangels.com/, and she brought up the idea of craft shows. She is thinking of selling her CDs at craft shows in maybe a year. Inspiration hit us (thank you caffeine) and I suggested that I could create angel pendants to sell at the booth with her. She loved the idea and suggested that maybe I make some cross pendants as well. We could sit at the booth together and learn how these shows work together. I figure this would be a great way for me to get introduced to how shows work and I'd have the support of my friend while doing it. As a bonus, she is looking at the same time frame I am so I know I will have ample opportunity to create these pendants despite the hectic schedule my kids run me through daily.
Anyway, here's to caffeine and having a creative friend to bounce ideas off of.
